A part/shared load service is a cost effective way to move your goods to and from your destination. The reason this service is so cost effective is that you share the vehicle with other consignments and therefore the vehicle costs are also shared. All consignments are individually prepared, numbered, labelled and inventoried to ensure all items are correctly delivered to you. The main advantage of a part load service is that you will receive the Matthew James service of excellence at the most cost effective price.
European Dedicated Service
A dedicated service gives you the flexibility to choose your collection and delivery dates. This service guarantees the Matthew James service of excellence and peace of mind that your moving dates can be fixed, allowing you the convenience to make travel arrangements and plan your arrival. All delivery dates are subject to EU laws on driving time. We can confirm the timing prior to any booking.
European Premium Service
A direct service combines Matthew James’ service of excellence with the added advantage of a dedicated collection date and express delivery timescale. Handling of your effects is minimised as they remain on the same vehicle throughout. Although your delivery will be carried out in conjunction with other clients consignments, this means you will share the cost of the vehicle and your consignment will be prioritised for onward delivery typically within 7-10 days of collection.

Reasons to relocate to Switzerland

Denmark consistently ranks as one of the happiest countries in the world. With a rich history and culture, unending coastlines and an excellent work-life balance, it is no surprise that Denmark is a popular destination for British ex-pats.

01. Removals to Switzerland

Switzerland is situated in Western-Central Europe and is bordered by Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein. Switzerland has an old and intricate history with its neighbouring countries, which is most evident in its four official languages: German, Italian, French and Romansh. Switzerland is famous for its beautiful mountainous landscapes, which dominate the southern half of the country and 60% of the nation’s total area. However, the majority of the Swiss population is concentrated in the northern Swiss Plateau region of the country where the two largest cities – Zurich and Geneva – are located.

02. Travelling in Switzerland

British citizens do not require a visa to enter Switzerland but you will need to provide proof of identity and a work permit or employment contract if you intend to relocate to Switzerland. As Switzerland is not a member of the EU or European Economic Area, relocating to Switzerland is not as simple as moving to other European EU-member locations such as France or Germany. If you do not plan to work once your relocate, you will have to provide evidence of adequate financial resources to support yourself while living in Switzerland. The UK basic state pension is still payable in Switzerland though you will not get UK pension credit. More information can be found on the Swiss Federal Office Migration website.

03. Living in Switzerland

As most people in Switzerland rent property – especially in the major cities of Geneva, Bern and Zurich – a shortage of apartments has increased competition and resulted in considerably high rental prices. Expats moving to Switzerland should expect at least a quarter of their income to be spent on accommodation. However, Switzerland’s high average salaries and excellent living standards often offset its expensive cost of living. Whether you seek the outdoor lifestyle of skiing in snowcapped mountains or a prosperous career in a modern and diverse city, Switzerland can be an ideal relocation for you.

04. Working in Switzerland

Anyone living or working in Switzerland is obliged to take out health insurance. This is compulsory and will need to be arranged within your first three months of arriving in Switzerland. You will also need to register your residence at your local town hall within 8 days of arriving in Switzerland. If you intend to spend more than 6 months of the year in Switzerland with your UK-registered car you will also need to register it with Swiss authorities.
